Bixby has supplied box toe puffs and heel counters to the footwear industry for over 140 years.  When the company first got its 'feet wet' the materials Bixby worked with were limited to cut fiberboard, felt components, and tacks as opposed to films and polymers. However, as times changed, so did Bixby. Today, the company develops and offers products that are in step with the needs of the industry.  Whether lighter weight, lower cost, more sustainability, or improved flex performance, Bixby engineers work with customers to design a custom plastic extrusion solution that meets the ever-changing demands of the shoe industry.

In addition to providing both box toe puffs and heel counters, Bixby can supply specialty films to be used as adhesive tie layers, structural parts, and external support or wear-resistant pieces. Moreover, the company extrudes the broadest range of polymers in the industry, handling products such as TPU, specialty polyamides, functionalized olefins, and many other custom plastic extrusions.
